Job Description : Manager (Packaging Operations) Description: A) Developing Vision and Strategic Plan for their Operations B) Enables Organization to achieve their vision and results C) Energizes organization creating a winning environment D) Sets Priorities to ensure resources are optimally balanced E) Develop, administer, and manage a departmental operating budget F) Lead development of department loss analysis and 3 to 5 year business improvement plan G) Maintains a solid effective working relationship with the local union H) Effectively communicates throughout all levels of the organization I) Administers company policies, procedures and collective bargaining agreement within the deparment and plant J) Coaches and develops all employees to achieve superior performance and enhance personal growth and development K) Leads cost reduction/cost control initiatives L) Embodies Key Principles in daily operations (Maintain Self Esteem; Listen and respond with empathy; Ask for help and encourage involvement; Share thoughts, feelings and rationale; Provide support without removing responsibility) Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s Degree: Science Engineering/Food Science Experience: 5+ Years Production Management experience in a manufacturing or related field in a consumer product manufacturing environment, preferrably food or beverage. Maintenance or production management experience. Union experience preferred. Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Excellent verbal & written communication skills; Flexability & Adaptability to an ever-changing environment; Ability to be creative and innovative in finding new solution sets as appropriate. Process control experience in Packaging, Process or Utilities Ability to develop high performance teams Familiarization with OSHA, USDA, FDA, AIB, and EPA requirements. Excellent Planning and Execution skills Training and Development skills Team Leadership, facilitation, collaboration & influencing skills; Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project applications TPM Experience critical. Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience a plus. Candidate Must Have : Minimum 5 years of manufacturing related experience, and degree in Engineering or Food Science TPM, Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing experience Proven leadership experience as candidate will supervise 4 Exempt and 70 non-exempt production staff Understanding of all processes in manufacturing (production, maintenance, etc) Ability to lead change in a fast paced environment
