Westview Services is a large non-profit organization dedicated to servicing and enriching the lives of people with developmental disabilities through meaningful activities, community integration, and supported employment.Westview operates over 30 programs and services approximately 2000 clients throughout Southern California, Arizona, and Nevada.
Westview is now hiring for VOCATIONAL SPECIALISTS in our Supported Employment program in the Orange county, CA area.This is a part-time position offering a flexible work schedule.
JOB DUTIES:
** provide proper work training, advocacy and supervision of clients as they learn their job tasks and provide on-going support at the job sites
** mentor the clients to do their job right
** facilitate client's interaction at the job site with co-workers and management staff
** build strong relationships with employers by making frequent employer contacts and follow up on issues or questions they may have
** observe clients when with them for any physical changes and signs in behavior or demeanor that could be a result of illness, abuse, improper dressing or grooming
** perform vocational assessments with clients to determine suitability for employment
** perform all other duties, as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- must be 21 years of age or older
- must speak, read and write in English
- must be computer literate
- must have reliable auto, insured and registered
- must have valid CA driver's license and good driving record
- must have good public speaking skills
- must pass a criminal background clearance, pre-placement physical, reference checks
- must be comfortable working with people with disabilities
- must have strong work ethic
