Description of Position: This person would need to be capable of taking immediate charge of architectural acoustics projects and would work directly with clients. This position involves consulting on a range of project types requiring expertise in room acoustics, sound isolation and building systems noise and vibration control.

• Analysis and modeling of room acoustics, architectural noise control and sound isolation, HVAC noise control, plumbing noise control, electrical system noise control, equipment vibration isolation, outdoor sound propagation. Develop effective and practical recommendations based on analysis in coordination with clients.
•Measurement, data download and analysis for reverberation rates, ambient sound levels, field NIC, field IIC and vibration. Provide data interpretation and summarizing conclusions.
•Review construction documents (plans and specifications) with respect to noise control and acoustics and provide recommendations to clients.
•Obtain acoustical data from clients, consultants or research to complete analyses.
•Produce project related correspondence and reports.
•Product project specific construction details for clients.
•Produce CSI standard format specifications for clients.
•Work directly with clients and other professionals with minimal supervision.
•Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines in and out of the company.
•Inspect acoustical material and vibration isolation component installations.

Required Skills
•BS in Acoustical Engineering
•Thorough understanding of the theory of acoustics/vibration and the ability to apply this theory to real world problems.
•Knowledge of current acoustical standards and regulations.
•Understanding of building construction and practices
•Understanding of building mechanical systems
•Proficiency with sound level meters, sound sources and tapping machine.
•Proficiency with acoustical modeling software (Insul, CATT-Acoustic).
•Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
•Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD.
•Able to quickly develop successful client relationships
•Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills
•Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal)
•Highly motivated and willing to take on new challenges
•5 to 10 Years Experience
Desired Skills •MS in related field
