We need an ambitious sound person to help us with our 40-minute SciFi short. We can bring back the actors for ADR if necessary (prefer not to--will be your prerogative), but our main concerns are the foley and effects: plasma-weapon blasts/impacts, force-field-contained explosions, anti-gravity tanks/APCs, landing-shuttles burning through atmo, anti-grav fighterships, mecha (robots), a scream from a very unusual monster, etc. Sounds need to be unique to the film.
This is a student film and will be shown on the festival circuit.
Principal photography is complete, but the pickups and CGI work will take several more months. The deadline for the sound is equally open-ended. We have a roughcut to work from with temporary visual effects (Final Cut 6 HD files from a Panasonic HVX200 camera).
The director is paying out of pocket, so pay is negotiable.
Ambition is more important than experience, but your our own equipment, sound library, and/or access to a sound booth (for ADR) are major pluses.
