Just looking for input about whether I should move to this area or not.I'm moving from austin and looking for a change.My brother works in this area and so I would be living with him in the huntington/newport vicinity.My concerns are this-
I'm young (26) and very liberal and I'm worried that I'll have a hard time finding friends as my understanding is that orange county is one of the most conservative places in the country (and no I don't have any problem with conservatives I've lived in texas my entire life - just want to find like minded people).
Also, I'm a writer/photographer and feel like I would want to travel into LA during the day to write/photograph as my creative energies would be wasted in boring suburban OC - but I'm guessing the commute is a real bitch.
Are my assumptions reasonable?Any input is greatly appreciated.
