What really mystifies me is how socialists and Democrats are incapable of seeing their own hypocrisy. They rant about "fascist tyranny", yet they refuse to realize that socialism is equally as tyrannical. The Leninist cry, "Power to the people", is a great example of how a lie told enough times can become truth. Since this slogan was used to promote leftist socialism, and since socialism is tyranny, and since tyranny necessarily excludes the rights and power of the inidividual, it can be inferred that socialism is about as far from granting "power to the people" as can be realized. Strict constitutionalists and Libertarians adhere to a philosophy that is about as far from tyranny as exists in the political realm. Some conservatives have approached this level, but they generally fall a bit short. Neo-conservatives ala Bush, not being true conservatives at all, lean far more to tyranny than do true conservatives. Unfortunately, most Republicans today give conservatism a bad name, especially in light of their foreign policies and slights to the Constitution regarding privacy and law enforcement.
