Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the Corporate Vice President, Technology and Operations in the evaluation and research of new equipment and technologies in consideration for usage in a 24-hour broadcast facility.
His or her duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Evaluate new technologies and equipment in consideration for usage in the Technology and Operations division.
•Communicate with vendors and suppliers during the research and evaluation phase of new equipments and technologies to ensure the system complies with manufacturer specifications and HBO LAG needs.
•Manage the design, installations and testing of all technical projects for the Technology and Operations division.Develop and implement test programs and procedures to validate software and systems deliverables.
•Assist the Engineer department in the facility planning and implementation of any projects.
•Support the Engineering department during the release stage of new technologies in the Sunrise facility.
•Keep documented all the technical installations on the broadcast areas.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
•AA in Engineering or equivalent experience
•Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Television designer, operation and testing engineer.
•Must have a strong working knowledge of broadcast television equipment.
•Must have sound project management skills, managing multiple large-scale mission critical projects.
•Must be able to create test programs for equipments and technologies been evaluated.
•Must have experience creating technical drawings, including electrical, mechanical and architectural drawings.
•Must have strong problem solving skills.
•Ability to work across multiple groups to drive technology requirements.
•Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
•Flexibility with the schedule is needed to meet on-air operations needs.Willingness to work overtime, overnights and on weekends with short notice.
Desirable Requirements:
•Bachelor degree in Electric, Electronics or Computer Systems Engineering
•Bilingual in English-Spanish.
•Knowledge of video processing equipment such as Digital Video and MPEG encoders.
•Knowledge of AutoCAD 2000/2007 software versions.
•Knowledge of IT infrastructure such as LAN, WAN Networking.
•Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
•Self motivation and resourcefulness.
