PHP APPLICATION DEVELOPER
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Application Developer has responsibility design, coding, and testing of the company’s web-based applications for internal and external customers.The ideal candidate will have experience programming in PHP, HTML, CSS, MySQL, Java script, and shell scripting in a Linux / Apache / MySQL / PHP environment.Familiarity with Oracle PL/SQL is a plus. PHP and MySQL are absolutely required. Responsibilities are expected to substantially increase as company grows.A friendly, upbeat personality and flexibility with shifting priorities in a high-paced environment are critical.
CORE TECHNICAL SKILLS:
PHP, HTML, CSS, MySQL (table creation, query generation, indexing, etc), PERL, Java scripting, Shell scripting, LAMP environment, CVS, SDLC
MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Application Development:
Design, development, deployment, and maintenance of all web-based applications in the company.
Experience with website design as well as web-based front-end user interface (UI) design.
Automate daily processes with shell / batch scripting and scheduling.
Manage source code via CVS.
Operate within the framework of a formal Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Consult with end users and management to gather functional and technical requirements for new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
Write business requirement documents, functional / technical specification documents.
Ability to complete special projects or other duties as assigned.
Application Support and Maintenance:
Act as level two support for troubleshooting / bug fixes for all custom applications.
Make suggestions on improved application functionality.
Occasional after hours support to address business-critical application issues is required.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Associate’s degree or higher in CS or related field
3-5 years hands-on experience with PHP, HTML, MySQL, Java scripting, shell scripting in a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP) environment.
Experience with writing and tuning complex SQL queries for MySQL.
Programming skills in PERL, Unix shell scripting (bash, ksh, csh), and python.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Ability to manage time well and meet multiple deadlines in a sometimes hectic environment.
Professional and friendly service oriented demeanor with co-workers and customers.
Self-motivated energetic team player who can work alongside others to maximize team performance.
Solid decision-making, problem solving, and organizational skills.
Proactive and willing to complete unassigned tasks and take on tasks beyond job scope.
Knowledge of internet marketing industry is a huge plus.
