Christians - Volunteers:Has anyone yet heard of the New C.I.A.??????
In Honor of Easter, I am posting this which the Holy Spirit inspired me in November to write and to post for Him, and which, I wrote then, but which in disobedience, I put off and put off posting, until Friday, I finally came to my senses and am posting now, hoping it is not too late to be obedient and that it will still be heard by those to whom the Lord wished to direct this message of hope. It is about 5 minutes long, but I hope you will find it worthy of your time:
Where are my Disciples?
Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Morning after morning I have heard the call, and have pushed it into the
back of my mind.But the Lord has insisted and every morning and all
through the day, I hear the call!
The Lord is calling us to service for Him. Do you hear it, too?
The Lord is asking, Where are my disciples?
Did he not say, leave your nets and follow me and I will teach you to be
fishers of men?
The bible tells us how to do this and the life of Jesus shows us
the necessity of doing so.
The world today, as ever, is ripe with opportunities to serve God.
Are you taking advantage of them?
While the word of God is spreading far and wide across the globe, in
fulfillment of the scriptures, many people are starving for God’s word,
right here in this very country.
How many of our elder citizen’s sit alone on a Saturday, hoping
for visitors who don’t arrive?
Many of our elders rot away in life, their skills and knowledge to
perish with them.
Many miss the love of children, lack a community of brethren –
that is, the church. Many have no way to get to church, nor to return.
Our Brothers and Sisters are weak, and sick and dying of dreadful disease,
some without a soul to care for them, or even about them.
The drug culture is “mad gone wild.” The pain of living is too great
for those who do not have The Rock upon which to cleave.
Our youth anesthetize themselves for lack of the painkilling words
of our Lord, without the relieving balm of
His love,
His hope and His promises to us.
Without a call to Higher Service, we are all floundering.
Who will be in Heaven to meet us, if we are not saving souls today?
And if there are no souls to meet us, then does that not beg
the question: will we be there??
The pain of this world is calling us all to action!
How can we sit back day after day, accumulating things,
storing up wealth that will stay behind us when we go?
How can we insulate ourselves with work and friends and come to church
to warm the pew on Saturday, or Sunday, to feel connected,
only for one day, to our Brothers Sisters, to rekindle our flame
weekly with God but then go home having done nothing on the Sabbath for the Lord?
Beyond your tithe that permits the church to continue to open its doors,
or give as the Lord calls you to give to those that feed you spiritually,
or to whom your spirit calls you to give...
Beyond the time you spend in prayer, meditation and reading His word...
where is the tithe of 10% of your time that you must spend IN SERVICE
for God?
You are His voice.
You are His hands and feet.
You are his servant.
Have you hidden your light behind a bushel?
Are you bringing your friends to church?
Do you volunteer to bring someone from a convalescent home,
or old folks home, or someone without other transportation to joins
us to hear the word?
Mothers and Fathers in Hospitals in every city and every county
of our country are mourning their dying children and are disconsolate.
Wouldn’t the Lord want you to take His Hands and Feet,
his Love and Light into their midst?
A word of consolation is needed, a word of comfort is needed.
Will you bear that word?
Where is your Christian Charity?
Where is mine?
Have we hidden our light behind a bushel? And do we continue
to hide it there?
There are countless Fatherless and Motherless Children.
Are you Mothering them?
Are you being a Father to them?
There are widows and orphans and women who have lost their partners
due to outbreaks of violence in the family.Families are torn apart
by violence, children are removed from their homes. Our society has been
ravaged by thoughtlessness, and self-directed objectives.
Our society has been and is being ravaged by the Dark Lord and
his fallen angels. Sounds like something from a movie, doesn’t it,
but it isn’t.
Everywhere you look there are faithless, despairing people –
children of God, suffering the slings and arrows of this Godless world.
Is the Sabbath, or Sunday, merely about your connection to the Lord?
Is it merely about YOU?
My friends, it is important that you ask yourself this question.
You must take an inventory, do your due diligence.
Would you leave your money in the bank and not check in on it,
at least from time to time to see how much was there,
what you’ve earned in interest?
How is your heavenly account doing?
Have you been warming the bench or are you out there “in the game?”
But if you are “in the game,” are you out there is left field
contemplating the cloud patterns, basking in the sun and the
cheers of the crowd?
Or are you playing the bases and close in to the action,
making a difference to the score?
What’s that you say? You say you have a busy life? Work, education,
spouses, kids, carpool, housework…. Yadda, yadda, yadda?
Then gauge not Monday through Friday, gauge, instead, your Sabbath,
your Sunday.How are you doing there?
That is the one day you have to “rest from your labors,” but
does that mean resting from the labors of God -- the Labors of Love?
If, to you, resting (Sabbath/Sunday) means vegging out in front
of the TV, or laying in your bed or sitting in your comfy chair
reading a book, or if it means a cookout, or an outing with friends
or family,
should not 10% of it surely be about sharing God’s words
and His love with others?
Others – beyond the normal scope of our lives, beyond the friends
and family we daily or weekly see.
Others – beyond our colleagues at work.
Others - the millions of people who have need of us in their lives;
the millions of "others" who have no one else but us.
Are we neglecting them?
Won’t Heaven be a much nicer place for you, if when you get there
you see the thousands of thankful souls whose love and gratitude
for your presence in their lives affected their being there that
fateful day?
Are you storing up your riches in Heaven?
Are you making a deposit into your Heavenly Savings Account?
Are you counting your blessings, or blessing your account?
This is Satan’s dominion now, but it will not be so forever,
Satan has a foothold here now, but guess what?? His foothold continues
because we have done little with our free will, but treat God like our own
personal Sears Christmas Wish Book. God has no dominion here except through
our prayers and supplication.
Satan is master here for now, but mostly because we have allowed it.
We have sat –
Saturday upon Saturday – and -
Sunday upon Sunday
and have done nothing to change it.
We are as good as accessories to the crime. Mute, unmoving Witnesses.
Well, it is time to do something about it.
It is about time to do, what my own father used to tell me,
especially when I was unhappy about something but waiting
for it to change miraculously, mysteriously and without
my personal involvement.
He would say it’s time to “Get your butt in Gear!”
If you don’t like the way something is, then YOU need to change it.
And every YOU who gets into action results in an Army of God.
An Army of People working to anchor Gods grace and salvation in this world. God’s "Salvation Army"
(if you will allow me to borrow the words.)
My friends, if you are waiting for your blessing, try instead, being one!
The Lord is calling YOU to serve.
He is not asking for much;
2 hours during the week, or on a Saturday, or Sunday,
belong to Him!!!
Give that time to Him and watch your Savings Grow!
To serve as an example is a miraculous thing.
To give someone hope is a gift that gives back.
Give that time along with your spouse, along with your children
and watch their Savings Grow, too!!!
How lonely will Heaven seem, if they are not there to enjoy it with you?
The family that Saves together, is Saved together!
The Lord is calling you to Serve for Him.
Do it grudgingly, at first, if you must.
ot Do it with great spirit and in joy!
The results will be the same!
At first you might think that doing this will be drudgery.
But when your spiritual brothers and sisters:
thank you;
embrace you;
tell you that they have felt the love of God shine in you,
your reward will be twofold for Your heavenly savings account
will begin to fill, and with a joy that you will get to experience
here on Earth, and again in Heaven.
