Grassroots Fundraising Coordinator
Job Overview:
MWC is seeking a Grassroots Fundraising Coordinator who will give leadership to all non-Foundation/grants-based fundraising efforts in the support of MWC’s liberatory community-based organizing in the low-income communities of Miami.The GFC is responsible for planning for and managing all aspects of grassroots and donor fundraising in close consultation with the Executive Director, Director of Operations, Grassroots Fundraising Committee, and when appropriate, other Board and volunteer leadership and Staff.This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities:
The Grassroots Fundraising Coordinator will provide leadership for MWC’s fundraising efforts, including managing campaigns, tracking progress and providing support to other senior staff and key members/leadership to achieve the fundraising goals of the organization.She/he will track, coordinate and keep abreast of all aspects of MWC’s non-foundation/grants-based fundraising efforts, ensure accurate and complete records, and be directly responsible for events, mail solicitation and donor development initiatives.The Grassroots Fundraising Coordinator provides leadership for integration of grassroots fundraising skills into the leadership development activities for MWC’s LIFFT (Low Income Families Fighting Together) and MIA (Miami In Action/Miami En Accion) grassroots organization members.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Staff the member-based Grassroots Fundraising Committee
·Lead the development of a comprehensive annual fundraising plan
·Take primary responsibility for executing MWC’s fundraising plan
·In close consultation with the Executive Director and Director of Operations, Identify, cultivate and manage annual solicitation of individual major donors
·Manage the organization’s direct mail campaigns and other appeals
·Ensure that the organization regularly communicates its accomplishments to donors and prospects through a variety of means (mail, email, phone, events)
·Coordinate with other MWC staff, Board, members and members to ensure the success of the Annual Gala, MWC's major fundraising event
Qualities:
Task-oriented, patience, ability to deal with more than one task or idea at a time, enjoy problem solving, willingness to learn from people of color and low-income women and men, and self-motivation.
Qualifications:
Commitment to progressive social change, base building, and grassroots organizing.
Minimum one year of grassroots fundraising or related fundraising experience.
Strong writing skills. Effective communication skills.
Ability to use email and web-based technology for fundraising purposes.Donor software experience preferred.Database software experience a must.
Bilingual English and Spanish a plus.
