The ideal candidate will be a professional Architect with real world experience in delivering designs and long-term goals for the development of Data Warehouses. This position will be involved in all levels of design and delivery of data solutions.Strong technical background in Oracle Development, database architecture definition, and ETL tool experience will be required skills for this individual. The ability to define and articulate a comprehensive vision of a Business Intelligence Solution, and a willingness to work towards a common goal with both team members and the user community will be critical to the success of this position.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Management or Team Leadership Experience (preference to Insurance or Financial industry related experience)
3+ years of experience in a data warehouse or information delivery environment
Experience working with senior management in a high volume, demanding environment
Expert knowledge of data warehousing methodologies (e.g. Kimball)
Expert knowledge of following Oracle skills: SQL, PL/SQL, Data Warehouse Builder, OLAP technologies.
Expert knowledge of data modeling and use of data modeling tools such as Oracle Designer
Strong logical and physical data modeling skills
Must have excellent customer facing and communication skills – including listening, speaking, presenting concepts and deliverables to both business and technical audiences
Ability to develop team members to effectively use Business Intelligence tools and work in a team environment
Must be able to translate business requirements into technical solutions that deliver business value
Lead the definition, implementation and maintenance of the data warehouse architecture and methodology
A wide degree of initiative, innovation and latitude is expected
Self initiated transfer of knowledge sessions are expected
Support the Business Intelligence Manager's efforts to identify and prioritize work efforts based on business value
Implement technical standards and appropriate applications of BI tools
Perform or coordinate code reviews to ensure compliance with established methodology and documentation requirements
Ability to work under a formal software development lifecycle
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with COGNOS
Experience with SAS
Experience with Crystal Enterprise Server
Experience with source management tools such as CVS
