PURPOSE: The Business Objects and .Net Developer will be responsible for business analysis, report and dashboard creation, some BO universe development and user administration. This role is more focused on output (generating reports, creating dashboards, analysis of info from reports) than on the high-level, creative input (universe creation, project management, prototype generation, etc.). 50% of the time will be reports generation and 50% -.Net development
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Design and Implement Business Objects reports and dashboards.
Assist in projects that involve analytical, technical, and administrative work in designing and troubleshooting of Business Objects universes (BO universes generally created and managed from overseas).
Assist in creating Business Objects report prototypes based on requirements from business teams
Applying knowledge of principles of database application programming and analysis, ability to tune poorly performing queries and the ability to analyze and develop solutions to complex problems.
Creates and follows established documentation processes to ensure appropriate tracking procedures:
Analyze, design, develop, test, and implement new software systems using .Net technologies.
Participate in a team environment and work on specific programming projects
Create and modify program documentation.
Ensure that code and other deliverables adhere to product and company standards.
Work with client services to ensure products can be deployed and implemented providing world class services.
Must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers and managers via documentation, telephone, and e-mail
Experience / Knowledge:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology or related fields.
• Minimum 6 months of experience with Business Objects or
• Must have utilized Business Objects in a Data Mart or Data Warehouse environment
• Experience in creating reports and dashboards in BO a must
Knowledge of BO universe creation
• Experience with general BO architecture
• Provide technical support and guidance to users
• 2+ years of experience in data warehouse environments
• Good understanding of data warehouse methodologies
• Knowledge in SQL & PL/SQL, ASP.Net, VB.Net, Web development, XML
• Solid customer service and communication skills.
