The Business Intelligence Developer III analyzes customer requirements, designs, develops, tests, installs and maintains Business Intelligence applications.The incumbent will have responsibilities for the maintenance of existing production Business Intelligence applications as well as being proficient with how they integrate with source systems.This person will effectively accommodate the customer's business needs, resolve conflicting user demands, while maintaining positive and cohesive customer relationships. The incumbent provides technical guidance through mentoring team associates while working independently with limited guidance from senior staff and management.The incumbent should begin to establish areas of subject matter expertise and be able to communicate technical concepts into non-technical terms when working with non-technical constituents. Key Accountabilities: - Design and develop Business Intelligence solutions according to business and technical requirements - Prepare technical and logical design artifacts - Submit solutions for review for compliance with best practices and standards - Lead quality assurance testing activities according to planned schedules - Contribute to enhancing and optimizing existing and new support processes and procedures - Resolve development and support issues of moderate complexity or risk - Provide systems administration support - Adhere to established Assurant change management processes - Create and sustain open communication with business application users and stakeholders by learning the underlying business processes Qualifications - Knowledge of design methodologies with Cognos BI, Cognos Planning or other Business Intelligence technologies is preferred - Experience with developing customer solutions with Cognos BI, Cognos Planning or other Business Intelligence technologies is preferred - Knowledge of quality assurance and testing procedures, processes and techniques employed across various business and technical application platforms and environments - Possesses analytical and critical thinking skills with technical problems of moderate complexity - Proficiency with data access tools and SQL languages - Effective oral and written communication skills - Ability to collect information to ascertain the root cause of an issue and make timely decisions when recommending corrective action - Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and assignments of moderate complexity, working tenaciously to meet or beat deadlines - A degree in Computer Information Systems, related field or equivalent work experience If this sounds like the opportunity for you please apply today!!
