THE POSISTION
Title:Broadcast Engineer
Reporting Relationship: Director, Engineering
Location:Sunrise, FL
Schedule:Shift basis as needed
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical specialist responsible for performing emergency and preventive maintenance procedures, testing and repairing on a wide variety of television systems, broadcast and transmission equipments in support of a 24-hour broadcast facility operation efficiency.
His or her duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Executes preventative maintenance procedures and emergency corrective actions to include cleaning, alignment, adjustment, installation, maintenance and repair of all television systems, video processing and other broadcast equipment assigned.
•Checks all operating systems to ensure proper operation.
•Generates daily engineering logs, keeps records of equipment malfunctions and supplies.
Minimum Requirements:
•AA in Engineering or equivalent experience
•At least 3 years of technical background related to broadcasting engineering and/or maintenance, testing and installation of video processing, television systems and other broadcast equipment.
•Must have functional knowledge of both analog and digital electronics with the ability to troubleshoot to the component level.
•Experience with post-production and automation systems.
•A strong working knowledge of Computer Systems and Networks as they relate to a broadcast environment.
•Ability to handle emergency situations and repairs in a very expedient manner.
•Excellent problem solving skills.
•Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
•Available to work on shifts basis including weekdays, overnights and weekends.
Desirable Requirements:
•Bilingual in English-Spanish
•Knowledge of Sony Digibeta VCR’s, Flexicarts, etc.
•SDI (Serial Digital Interface) facility for Broadcast Grade Video
•Knowledge of Harris/Louth automation systems
•Knowledge of Grass Valley Profile server
•Windows OS and networking experience
