Absorption of water:12% average, immersion in water to environment temperature, 24 hours, with a resultant absorption of the five (5) %.APPLICATIONS:The bricks are adjusted to the norms ASTM C216 (Solid Bricks) and C902, Bricks for light traffic and pedestrian traffic.For walls, they comply the water absorption requirements and resistance for severe outdoor weather (SW).For pavements, they bear interior residential traffic or outside in streets with low traffic.They are specifically excluded uses in freeways and ways with traffic of trucks of three or more axes with equivalent loads over 8.1 tons and more than 250 daily repetitions, like ports and terminals, parking lots of taxis in airports, etc.
The norm ASTM C902 classifies the bricks in three uses:SX, MX and NX that correspond in its order to severe use, moderate and low according to the degree of frostbite that apply in the region U.S. in which be used.Our bricks are adjusted to the class MX (great part of EU and some zones of Canada)
The norm also establishes three types according to the traffic, thus:Type I: bricks exposed to high abrasion as streets and entrances to commercial public buildings Type II: intermediate traffic like flats of stores, restaurants and sidewalks Type III: low traffic as patios and individual dwellings
