Top Company is seeking an Accounting Revenue Director for its operation in South Miami, FL.PLEASE NOTE: THIS POSITION WILL NOT RELOCATE!!!
Duties and Responsibilities
The right candidate for this position will be responsible for ensuring all department activity and contractual requirements are processed on a timely basis and properly recorded in accordance with GAAP.This includes maintenance of a master list of contractual requirements outlining billing, credits, developer commissions/rebates, promotional material issuances, space purchases and other items.
The position will also provide oversight of revenue and accounts receivable department consisting of one senior accountant Accountant II and AR Coordinator, as well as oversee the membership processing department consisting of one manager and 7 processors.Other responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Adequacy evaluation of internal controls and offer solutions for improvement of internal controls within the revenue department.
Coordination with the IT department to develop automated improvements and evaluate controls under existing automated interfaces and IT generated reports.Perform audits of the fee table in the automated fee system.
Ensure membership processing department processes all applications accurately and on a timely basis.
Monitoring credit card charge backs, denials and referrals and ensure these are being processed in an appropriate and timely manner.
Communicating with Legal Department regarding contract interpretations.
Reviewing bad debt allowance and determine adequacy of said balance, on a monthly basis.
Reviewing rebate and space procurement calculations to ensure they have been properly calculated and accounted for in accordance with the developer contracts.
Coordination of resolution of developer disputes with senior management and our developer clients.
Performing periodic reconciliation’s of member’s accounts with certain of our developer clients.
Responsible for the issuance of the weekly revenue flash.
Analysis of major revenue types, including volume price analysis, on a monthly basis.
Supervisory
Selection of the best qualified persons for the approved positions.
Ensuring that each employee receives complete training in all aspects of the position.
Establishing appropriate reporting methods to ensure that staff is carrying out their responsibilities.
Accurately evaluating employee performance to meet deadline.
Recommending salary increases, promotions, demotions, transfers and terminations.
Developing employees toward realizing their potential.
Maintaining a high employee morale with low turnover.
Performing other related duties as required.
Must have strong analytical skills to interpret financial and statistical data.
The position requires sound knowledge of accounting theory and GAAP.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Must possess a minimum of 8 years preferably with at least 3 years at the manager or above level.
Must be familiar with interpreting and accounting for complex contracts.
Must be computer literate and be proficient with Word, Excel, and all other Microsoft Office applications.
Must possess excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
Must be detail oriented, accurate, and possess excellent organizational skills.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Must be able to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
Physical Requirements
Sitting, manual dexterity (writing, typing, handling documents), operation of automated equipment (i.e., computer).
